Shark

1.9

Sharks is known for their quick service and attractive dancers, but unfortunately, our recent experience was overshadowed by the overly aggressive behaviour of the mommason. With 10 dancers on stage, another 10 outside and several working the room the bar had a strong lineup, but the atmosphere was tainted by the mandatory 2-drink rule for lady drinks in order for the ladies to keep us company. This policy is a not a deal in our opinion and not the first time we’ve encountered it, but this was the first time experiencing this at Sharks. The staff’s attitude when we declined only added to the discomfort.

The bar’s double-stack seating arrangement contributes to a cramped, crowded feel when busy, further detracting from the overall experience. The pushiness of the staff to quickly pick a lady and buy her drinks made it difficult to enjoy what should otherwise have been a good time. Instead of feeling welcomed, the aggressive approach led us to moving on to someplace more relaxed quicker than expected.

Drinks

150 for soft drinks, 180 for local beers (mixed drinks unknown, you input is welcomed)

Ladies

10 ladies outside, 10 dancers on stage, 6 to 8 ladies working the floor, super pushy

Lady Drinks

Mandatory 2-drink minimum for lady drinks for 500

Atmosphere

Well lit, the double-stack seating makes the venue feel a bit small, the pushy approach detracts from the experience

Staff

The staff was quick to serve, but were pushy, became rude when we did not quickly pick a lady or purchase lady drinks.

Overall Rating

1.9
One of the most pushy places we’ve been in Bangkok. We were asked to pay before finishing our first drinks. The place was at quarter capacity.
Shark is about 3/4 of the way down soi Cowboy on the left
